Keep YouTube.
Leave the Shorts loop.

You came for a tutorial, a lecture, or a video you meant to watch. FocusTube helps you stay there by targeting Shorts routes and selected Shorts entry points.

What happens to Shorts

In Strict Mode, FocusTube redirects a recognized /shorts/ URL to YouTube Home. Warn Mode puts a warning over the Shorts page, with an option to allow access.

Optional visual hiding removes detected Shorts navigation links, shelves, chips, and tabs. It can also hide the English “Most relevant” shelf on the Subscriptions page.

The useful parts remain available

FocusTube does not target ordinary watch pages, search results, subscriptions, or playlists for route blocking. You can still choose a long-form video, find a channel, or return to a saved playlist.

Choose your boundary

Route blocking applies while Focus Mode is enabled or a work timer is running.

Strict
Redirects recognized Shorts routes to YouTube Home.
Warn
Shows a warning on recognized Shorts routes, with an allow action for that scope.
Passive
Leaves direct Shorts routes available. Configured visual hiding can still remove detected Shorts entry points.

A work timer uses Strict behavior even if you selected Warn or Passive. Timer breaks suspend blocking.

What to keep in mind

Visual hiding depends on the elements YouTube renders. The “Most relevant” shelf match uses English text and applies to Subscriptions; it is not a general filter for recommendations across YouTube.
